We participated in a new edition of Municipalia, the biennial meeting of reference for the urban equipment and services sector.
At this year’s Municipalia, Citisend, Smafybin, Urban Refuse Development and Winback returned to the forefront by presenting their waste management systems, addressing today’s recycling and sustainability challenges. Very essential advances at a time when the European Union has set ambitious targets, requiring countries to reach at least 55% recycling of municipal waste by 2025 and 60% by 2030.
We were delighted to welcome colleagues and customers to our stand at the Municipalia fair. It was a pleasure to greet everyone who came to learn about our new products. We are also excited to share that we had the honor of being interviewed by Lleida TV.
We were also visited by Meritxell Serret Aleu, Minister of External Action and European Union of the Generalitat de Catalunya. Her presence at our stand is a testimony of the importance of URD Group’s solutions and technologies in the field of waste management.
Citisend continues to promote recycling through identification and control solutions for waste management, allowing a more personalized selective collection. These solutions have been successfully implemented in the Pla d’Urgell region, as well as in several neighborhoods in Lleida and Tarragona.
The intelligent solar compacting litter garbage can, Smafybin continues to make a difference by enabling efficient waste management, which is equivalent to managing the same amount of waste as up to 40 conventional garbage cans, drastically reducing the amount of resources required.
URD Automatic Waste Collection continues to lead the way in pneumatic waste collection, with proven technology that has accumulated more than 20 years of experience. It currently serves more than 500,000 users and handles more than 450 tons of waste per day. Pneumatic collection not only improves the urban image, but also optimizes separation at source and reduces costs per tonne collected. This technology is becoming the standard for cities committed to the quality of life of their citizens and environmental sustainability.
In this edition of Municipalia, we present Winback, an innovative solution that is set to revolutionize waste management and promote responsible recycling. In an ever-changing world, where waste management is undergoing fundamental transformations due to initiatives such as“Fair Tax” and“Pay as you Throw (PAYT)”, Winback has stood out for its development of adaptive technologies that allow citizens to pay fairly according to their waste usage and recycling. This not only encourages responsible recycling, but also reduces taxes for those who contribute positively to the waste management process.
These systems are not only a solution for meeting European recycling targets, but also contribute to creating more environmentally friendly cities and promote the circular economy.
